Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar met President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Ezzat and a number of University members in an open meeting at the main campus of the university in front of Zafaran Palace. This was through the media recording of Khairy Ramadan of his program “Akher El-Nahar” which was broadcasted on the satellite channel CBC.
At the beginning of his speech, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, praised the efforts of Prof. Abdul Wahab Ezzat and his hard work as president of one of the oldest Egyptian universities namely Ain Shams University, during the time period in which they cooperate together when he was dean of Faculty of Dentistry, and then vice president for graduate studies and research sector, stressing that it was a fruitful period.
He pointed out that we need at this stage to reconsider university education requirements; we need non-typical disciplines in public and private universities.
He also stressed on the great importance of the system of scientific research and those related to the international publication and patents. In addition, he stressed on keenness at the current stage on the support of scientific research efforts that are closely linked to the needs of society. Moreover he talked about finance file, counselor to the importance of being both the head of the University of Money it spends on researcher and their own research while working to expand the available resources.
Concerning the student Regulation, he confirmed that he provides full support for the independence of universities, praising the efforts of Prof. Abdul Wahab Ezzat, the Chairman of the committee preparing the new regulation in this regard.
At the conclusion of the meeting, he promised to begin the implementation of what has been planned based on his study of the files, all the issues related to higher education and scientific research and that it will not be wasted day without progress step on the path of reform and achievement.
