Ain Shams University officially receives the international QS certification

In a big celebration held by Ain Shams University - headed by Prof. Dr. Fathi Al Sharkawy, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs and Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Sengab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and the deans of the various faculties and universities. Mr. Samir Abdel Nasser, the Secretary General of the University and a number of university professors and the QS file team under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdul Fattah Saud, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and General Supervisor of the World Classification of the University - Ashon Fernandez, Regional Director of global QS in the Middle East. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat, president of Ain Shams University, stressed that the university is keen to have a distinguished presence in the international classifications map because of its competitive advantages that make it able to be internationally honorable among its peers from other universities.

He also praised the role of QS in supporting the university through its roadmap to guide the university and help it to identify its weak points that need to be avoided and strengths that need to be emphasized and continuity. He pointed out that the most prominent weaknesses faced by the university were the documentation process. Many of the activities and elements already available at the university but the lack of documentation does not show them among the monitoring elements in the evaluation, which is keen on the team responsible for the file is currently avoided and this led to the university's high rating this year to get 4 stars out of 5.

Mr. Ashon Fernandes reviewed in detail the University's classification map in the various categories under evaluation.

A comparison was made between the university's ranking this year and its latest ranking in 2015, where evaluation is made every three years.

He also took a historical look at the origins of this classification, which began in 1986 in the United Kingdom, aims to support educational institutions internationally, and helps them to plan.

Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Sengab explained that Ain Shams University has recently succeeded in entering the list of a number of global classifications, including the classification of Shanghai and the classification of the Times, which corresponds to the international reputation and academic place in the place of prestige among the universities of the world. He stressed that the university's endeavor to launch towards internationalism is continuous.

Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah Saud explained that the University of Ain Shams has succeeded in obtaining 5 stars of 5 in each of the categories of teaching and community service and employment in the labor market, while the assessment of the university in the global standard of 3 stars out of 5 and 2 of 5 in scientific research. The organization of a map and methodology for further progress in those standards will be an assistive component during the preparation phase of the new file to be submitted in 2021 where it is assessed in the global QS classification every three years.

Following the graduation ceremony of the certificate, Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat presented the University Shield to Mr. Ashon Fernandez in recognition of his role in support of the University. The members of the team responsible for the university file were also honored for their outstanding efforts.
